I actually watched the first three of the Matrix movie not very long ago, and I find it highly likely that the plot writers of Genshin Impact have watched the movie too.
Continuing onto the topic with information from The Matrix movie and the mechanisms of video games,
There's many things in Sumeru's archon quest that has similar or same ideas as the Matrix movie. For example, there's knowledge capsules that has the same function as those in the Matrix which lets Neo to master martial arts without practicing and also lets Alhaitham to know some stuff that they aren't supposed to know, such as the divine knowledge capsule. Besides this, the world of Teyvat and the matrix are both supposed to be fake, and the structure of the world can be controlled beyond this world, and there must be an actual location of the program, which Teyvat has the leylines with Irminsl as the base, while the matrix is unknown but there seems to a "source" that's the king of all the machines, which is mentioned in the last movie. The structure and the information of the matrix and Teyvat can be changed by communicating to both those locations or objects. Technically, the matrix and Teyvat in mechanics (game of Genshin Impact) are made from the same materials, which is trillions of computer bits, just programs made by something … The developers.

What is interesting in the Matrix though, is that even Neo fought a lot namely with Agent Smith, but he never fought the more powerful characters/programs in the Matrix or in the real world like the Architect or "The Source" (equivalent to the Heavenly Principles or Irminsl) but negotiated with them instead. On the other hand, the Traveler have fought the unknown god way in the beginning but didn't fight Dottore, which in this case is equivalent to Agent Smith… the hacked computer program that even "the Source" can't do anything about him, and the Architect could only destroy the whole Matrix and make a new one.
In terms of main protagonists, Nahida, the Traveler, and Alhaitham are equivalents to Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus. Morpheus means the God of Dreams, so is Nahida in the game, though her name in Arabic means delightful. He also plays the role like Alhaitham did, providing the information about the trulth of this world. Neo was trapped in a dream world never using his physical body since birth until the middle of the story, so is Nahida. Neo and the Traveler is the one who's executing the plot. Trinity? I don't really know, since there's no obvious romantic relationship between the Traveler and Nahida, but Nahida seems to be encouraging the Traveler a lot like Trinity did in the Matrix, therefore providing a lot of help for the Traveler physically too. In the leaks, someone have went wandering around in the Irminsl domain, out of their expectation, he or she discovered some cubes that looked like the ones that the unknown god have used in the entrance cutscene, so it might be the proof that Irminsl has some connection with the creator of Teyvat. So these two are equivalent to the Architect and the Source in the matrix, while the source is in the real world, the Architect has its own domain with a special well-guarded entrance like Irminsl and need a special "key" to access. In terms of the antagonist, both Scaramouche and Dottore, the sages can be equivalent to the some programs and Agent smith. Agent smith basically begans to destroy this world using his mind infusion ability, like what Dottore did to some of the Sumeru citizens, and the sages in the game, like the machines in the movie, kept the Sumeru citizens from dreaming and living the life they like, and partially manipulated them from opposing the Academia. Also, they trapped the citizens in a dream so they can harvest them and turn Scaramouche into a fake, totalitarian "Rukkhadevata". Like the machines, they know how to manipulate fear, since in China, fear have played a big role on how the dynasties acted like samsaras of Sumeru and the Matrix.
If you die in the matrix, your real world body dies too. And in one of the official arts, Collei have dreamed about Irminsl being burned by Dottore. As I have watched various lore videos, some people have suggested that it is a right choice to burn down Irminsl, but I am sure that it's a terrible idea. Even though minor branch clipping only effects the history of a certain individual like Nahida and Scaramouche, and the logic remains readable since the branch is still here and attached. But cutting down the whole Irminsl is another thing, which is equivalent to deleting everything in Teyvat, which would result in everything just vanish and the whole game just become an empty black space with absolutely nothing in it, maybe causing many creatures to die. And as the Architect in the Matrix have said, if the Matrix were to crash, everybody in it would die. I bet Dottore wouldn't be **** enough to do that.
Going onto the history of China now, ever since the Qin dynasty all the way to the end of Qing dynasty, the emperors cannot resist from the temptation of the wealth and power that they always did their best to harvest as much as they could from the citizens. At first, they promised to be kind and balance on the citizens' well being, but after a few hundred years they become corrupted due to the temptation of infinite legal looting from the citizens. And the citizens can't bear it and start a revolution but due to the mindset it always ends up with a new emperor. And the loop repeats for 2000 years. That's maybe one of the reasons why there would be one Dendro Archon living for 500 or 1000 years, after the older Archon get partially corrupted, she make a copy of her and erase herself from history, as if she hadn't existed, like there's 7 versions of the Matrix and no one knows the previous versions until the Architect told him. Because of this, I highly suspect there are dendro archons from the same gene chain as Nahida before Rukkhavedata but was deleted from history. Also, many negative comments about China's government throughout history was deleted, and it's not something new at all, so you should not be too angry of your Hoyolab post being deleted for an unknown reason. The Chinese government is like that since 2000 years ago.
